This is a tremendous wristwatch – the Crème de la Crème of the Audemars production. This is the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Grande Complication Automatique in platinum and features perpetual calendar, split seconds (rattrapante) chronograph along with the king of complications minutes repetition. The white dial has applied white gold hour markers with blackened hands. The subdials are traced, ever so subtly in white gold. The functions are as follows: subdial at 12 o’clock displays moonphase and weeks counter; subdial at 3 o’clock displays day and chronograph 30 minute counter; subdial at 6 o’clock displays month and leap year; subdial at 9 o’clock displays date and constant seconds. The platinum case is a massive 42mm diameter by 14mm thick. Domed sapphire front and flat sapphire display back crystals. The top surface of the case is polished while the case sides are brush finished. The chronograph buttons and crown are set into knurled rings. The chronograph split seconds button is set into the crown (which is a totally cool design taken from early chronographs). The left side of the case features the very discreet, brush finished minute repeater activator slide. Movement is the automatic winding Audemars Piguet Caliber 2885 with 52 jewels and hand decorated 18k rose gold skeletonized rotor. Strap is AP black alligator with AP deployant buckle. This Grande Complication with minute repeater, split seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar is new with box and papers. US Retail price is $686,000.
