You’ll feel like a million bucks strapping this watch onto your wrist, it’s that nice. This is the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Grande Complication Automatique and features perpetual calendar, split seconds (rattrapante) chronograph along with the king of complications minutes repetition, all in a massive 18k rose gold case with white dial. Gorgeous! Let’s start with the dial, which is white with applied rose gold hour markers with blackened hands. The subdials are traced in rose gold. The functions are as follows: subdial at 12 o’clock displays moonphase and weeks counter; subdial at 3 o’clock displays day and chronograph 30 minute counter; subdial at 6 o’clock displays month and leap year; subdial at 9 o’clock displays date and constant seconds. The 18k rose gold case is a massive 42mm diameter by 14mm thick. Domed sapphire front and flat sapphire display back crystals. The top surface of the case is polished while the case sides are brush finished. The chronograph buttons and crown are set into knurled rings. The chronograph split seconds button is set into the crown (which is a totally cool design taken from early chronographs). The left side of the case features the very discreet, brush finished minute repeater activator slide. Movement is the automatic winding Audemars Piguet Caliber 2885 with 52 jewels and hand decorated 18k rose gold skeletonized rotor. Strap is hand sewn AP black crocodile with 18k rose gold AP deployant buckle. This Grande Complication with minute repeater, split seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar is new with box and papers. US Retail price is $643,000.
